TV Quick Hits: On ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ ‘Masters of Sex,’ ‘Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,’ and more
For this edition of TV Quick Hits, we’re really all about tiny news items for various shows! Read on to find out the latest.
“Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce” ending – While the Lisa Edelstein series did recently score a three-season renewal, it just so turns out that this is not going to be your standard order by any means. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the third season will have seven episodes, and the fourth six, and the fifth and final season will close with six. These seasons will be scaled over a reasonably short period of time.
If nothing else, at least rejoice that the series is getting a proper end.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” casts new Captain – Following the events of the season finale, the precinct is going to need a new person in charge, even if it is for a little while. This is where Ken Marino is going to come in. Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor has landed the position, and it will be for at least two episodes.
“Masters of Sex” news – According to TVLine, Corey Reynolds is going to be playing the husband of Niecy Nash’s new character on the Showtime drama. What’s particularly interesting about this is that they played siblings on HBO’s “Getting On,” so this is an interesting change-up.
“The Mindy Project” casting – Bryan Greenberg is set to be one of the latest new faces to turn up per Deadline, playing the part of a pediatric nurse who ends up caring for Mindy and her daughter across multiple illnesses. Meanwhile, Rebecca Rittenhouse is going to be playing a rival-of-sorts for Mindy in Anna.
