ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 6: Filming starts for Kerry Washington, cast

Are you excited to get more “Scandal” on your TV? We understand why you would be, but we’d also caution you to be ready to wait for a rather long time to see what is going to come next. Despite work beginning on the show, it is still not premiering until the new year.

Nonetheless, who is ready for a few sneak peeks behind the scenes? The photos below come to you courtesy of Kerry Washington (Olivia) and Darby Stanchfield (Abby) on Twitter, and they give you a reasonably good sense as to the overall rapport of the cast. Sure, they don’t give you much of an indication of anything else, but we will take what we can get for the time being.

One of the reasons for the hiatus is the pregnancy of Kerry Washington, so our assumption here is that there will be a few months of production, and then a lengthy hiatus to accommodate her maternity leave prior to the cast coming back for more. With the later premiere date, this will give the writers of the show all the time that they need to get together stories, and have the cast wrap up in time for post-production to take over.

Hopefully, there’ll be some further “Scandal” news over the coming days; at the top of our personal priority list for the series is just some sort of new wrinkle to the classic Olivia / Fitz dynamic. Obviously, you want the two of them to still be in one another’s lives, but it does need to be in a way that makes some sense.
