‘Girl Meets World’ season 3, episode 9 preview: Lucas’ choice between Riley, Maya revealed
Tonight on “Girl Meets World,” you are going to have the beginnings of the “Girl Meets Ski Lodge” saga. It is a chance for Riley, Maya, and Lucas to examine some of their feelings, take in some nature, and also wonder precisely what their future could hold.
However, it does not look like there are any definitive decisions coming during the episode. After all, this is a two-parter, and next week’s Part 2 looks to be when the answers are coming. The short synopsis below via TV Guide may not be much, but it tells you for the most part all of the information that you need to hear:
“The group’s ski trip comes to an end, and Lucas must finally choose between Maya and Riley.”
We know that there is a ton of intrigue from the fan point of view when it comes to this love triangle, but if we’re honest, we are more than fine getting this part of the story out of the way. Love triangles are not meant to go on forever, and we’d rather just see what the next phase looks like. Plus, it’s not like whoever Lucas chooses will be ready in return for a relationship, and also it is certainly possible that they end up not working out, and something else happens down the line.
What we’re trying to say here is that this is a fluid situation. This is not “The Bachelor,” and there is no marriage proposal at the end of it. These are teenagers!

The love triangle was interesting, because it wasn’t done on BMW. However, now the love triangle is a bit statle and dumb because they are teenagers. All three kids will probably date different people through the course of the 3rd and, hopefully, fouth season. If the 4th season is the end for GMW, most Disney show go 4 seasons maximum, there will have to be a large time jump to find out if Lucas ends up with Riley or Maya for good. GMW isn’t BMW which was on for 7 seasons. Therefore, I am not sure the purpose of GMW is to figure out the love lives of three teenagers. If the triangle is what the writers wish to focus on mostly for 2 more seasons, I think that GMW will lose viewers.
