‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8 spoilers: ‘Stitchers’ actress lands important role

With “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 starting up production, this is the time where some of the latest casting news does rise to the surface! With that in mind, we are very much pleased to present you with this.

Per TVLine, Allison Scagliotti of “Stitchers” fame has been cast in an extremely important role for at least the start of the season in Georgie, an occult reach intern who wants to find great success, and also some sort of purpose, as a result of everything that happened in her past. Specifically, the casting mentions that she “channels her existential anxieties into a new field of study that will force her to confront her deepest fears.” That’s a little bit out-there for this show, but we’ll take it.

However, it is certainly fair to say that her knowledge could make her an important cog in whatever happens next. The show has given us cliffhangers aplenty entering the season, with the biggest one for us being precisely what happened to Enzo and Damon. These two are certainly taking a walk on the wild side ride now, and it’s crazy. If nothing else, it makes us more than a little bit excited about how this show could bring us closer to the end.

For the record, there’s no official word just yet that season 8 will be the show’s last, but we certainly wouldn’t be shocked if that news came out while at San Diego Comic-Con a little bit later this week.
