‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: Premiere title officially revealed!
With production beginning on the fifth season of “Arrow” this week, isn’t it fitting that we start to learn a thing or two when it comes to episode titles? The only real bummer here is that the news we are getting is hardly of the super-substantial variety.
Instead, what we have courtesy of executive producer Marc Guggenheim (see the Twitter picture below) that “Legacy” is the official title for the upcoming premiere. He, Greg Berlanti, and Wendy Mericle were all involved in the production of the story, and this is clearly the A-team trying to put their best foot forward in getting the show off to a great start. Stunt guru James Bamford is directing, which should be another sign that the show is really going to be all out from an action point of view.
If this title feels remotely familiar to you, it’s because it is remarkably similar to “Legacies,” the title for the sixth episode of season 1. Obviously, the show is trying to look back towards the past in some way with this title, which could be as some sort of way to hype up the flashback story. Or, we know that the series is really pushing itself to try to remind viewers of events from the first season or so, and maybe this will be a way to circle back around to that part in the show’s run.
So long as we have a little bit more of the “Arrow” of old, when this series was a little more about grounded crime-fighting action as opposed to superpowers and melodrama, we’re going to be happy.
