‘The X Factor’ UK: Rylan Clark-Neal officially joins as co-host
There is no longer any reason to wonder about what the future of Rylan Clark-Neal is going to be in the context of “The X Factor” UK: We now know for sure that he will be a part of the “Xtra Factor” show that follows every new episode. The former contestant has spent more of his time as of late presenting within the “Big Brother” universe, but here he will get a chance to be back in an environment that helped him to be a star in the first place.
Speaking on “This Morning,” Rylan (who was labeled as a potential TV star prior to being eliminated from the singing show) had the following to say about getting this elusive co-hosting gig:
“I’m very honoured and over the moon to say that after four years of being away, I’m back … I’m going back to host The Xtra Factor alongside the lovely Matt Edmondson, who’s great – we just get on so well. We are literally over the moon.”
We do think that Rylan is going to be facing quite a challenge when it comes to taking on this show, mostly because it’s been a rather-long time since we have considered “The Xtra Factor” particularly compelling or relevant. The majority of the time, it is just a regurgitation of what happens over on the flagship show. One of the few exceptions to that was back when another former contestant in Olly Murs was a co-host alongside Caroline Flack; say what you will about the performance of these two hosting the actual show, but we think they were perfectly suited for this environment and had really great chemistry.
