‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Silicon Valley’ Comic-Con panels announced by HBO
It shouldn’t be much of a shock that HBO is bringing some of their shows to San Diego Comic-Con, in particular one that is as popular as “Game of Thrones.” After all, it’s an annual tradition, and it manages routinely to fill up Hall H, the biggest room at the convention center.
This year, the panel is going to take place on Friday, July 22 at 2:15 p.m. (Pacific time), and executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be joined by incredible “Battle of the Bastards” / “The Winds of Winter” director Michael Sapochnik and cast members John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hemptstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys), Faye Marsay (The Waif), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark).
Clearly, this panel is meant to be more of a tribute to season 6 than a preview for season 7, given that there are a few cast members appearing this time around who are not even on the show anymore. One of the real struggles with scheduling this one is that filming for the show is often going on at the same time as the panel, and it’s not easy to travel from Northern Ireland to San Diego.
To along with this, HBO announced that the “Silicon Valley” panel will be at the Indigo Ballroom on Thursday, July 21 at 4:00 p.m., with co-creator Mike Judge, executive producer Alec Berg and cast members Thomas Middleditch (Richard), Kumail Nanjiani (Dinesh), Zach Woods (Jared), Martin Starr (Gilfoyle) and Amanda Crew (Monica). There will also be a panel for new comedy “Vice Principals” Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Horton Grand Theater featuring Danny McBride, Walton Goggins, and executive producer Jody Hill, who created the show with McBride.
