‘Preacher’ episode 5 preview: Jesse finds himself new fame

For everyone out there who has enjoyed “Preacher” so far, rest assured that next week’s new episode is a big one. After all, it marks a chance to see what happens following what could be interpreted as a sudden rise to fame for one Jesse Custer, and it could give us a chance to see a whole lot of fun as a result.

Before we get any further, be sure to check out the official synopsis below via TV Guide:

“After his stunt with Quincannon, Jesse is Annville’s newest rock star; and Tulip and Cassidy connect. Meanwhile, the Cowboy makes a tragic decision.”

This hour marks a pivotal point in the season, given that this is when everything should be starting to pick up in a big, interesting way. Over the course of the series we’ve certainly come to know these characters and what they’re capable of, and the real question now is this: Will they end up matching these capabilities? That’s what should be interesting to find out as we start to get further and further along. We’re excited to see how Jesse handles having so much more attention.

Update: The promo certainly ups the ante, and you get a further sense now that Annville’s opinions towards Jesse are torn. Some out there appreciate what his power brings, but others feel understandably that it is something to worry about and even fear at times. We’ll have to see where this story goes the remainder of the season, but so far, we’re definitely heading to interesting places.
