Carson Daly, Blake Shelton, more from ‘The Voice’ comment on Christina Grimmie’s stunning death

Christina Grimmie -Due in part to the news breaking overnight, we know that there are many people out there who are still just learning about the shocking, horrible news of Christina Grimmie’s passing. The former contestant of “The Voice” was shot and killed by a man who, per authorities in Orlando, arrived to a post-concert meet-and-greet specifically for the purpose of doing her harm. The shooter’s name has not been released as of yet, and a possible motive is still being sorted out.

We know that there are many tributes that have poured out across the internet over the past twelve hours, but we figured we would focus here primarily on those within “The Voice” community. Show host Carson Daly called into “The Today Show,” saying that he and many others are “still in shock” over the news. He also went on to describe his time around her:

“She would walk in a room, and she had an infectious laugh. She was determined, she was confident, but she was incredibly talented. You would never forget meeting her. I’m shocked she didn’t actually win season 6; her star was shining so bright, which certainly makes this tragedy that much harder this morning.”

Here are what a few other people related to the show have had to say since the news of her death broke.

Blake Shelton (coach): “I’m stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl… Keeping [Christina’s] family in my heart and mind.”

Jake Worthington (season 6 runner-up): “Waking this mornin still don’t feel right.. We weren’t the closest but I admired this young lady so much…. Truly won’t be another like her.”

Josh Kaufman (season 6 winner): “My deepest and most sincere condolences go out to the family of @TheRealGrimmie. Such a tragic loss.”

Christina Aguilera (coach): “So sad passing of @TheRealGrimmie. Beautiful member of #TheVoice family & true #Fighter. My heart goes out to her family, friends & fans. xo.”

“The Voice” official Twitter:  “There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice. Our hearts go out to the friends, fans and family of @TheRealGrimmie.”

Grimmie’s coach Adam Levine has not commented since her death was confirmed, but posted on Instagram last night that he was “sad” and “confused” by the senseless tragedy.

Once again, our thoughts go out to Christina and all who knew her during this incredibly difficult time.
