‘Code Black’ season 2 spoilers: More details on (another) recurring character
The second season of “Code Black” is going to be coming to CBS at some point this fall, and as you may have heard already, there’s going to be a rather substantial reboot taking place here. We’re losing a couple of characters, getting at least one new series regular in a male co-lead alongside Marcia Gay Harden, and a few other new characters to go along with him … and we’ve got a quick-take on one of them below.
Per a report from TVLine, the CBS show is looking to bring on someone new to the series in Charlotte Piel, and there are a few things that we can say about her right now. For one, she’s a one-time child star! She’s someone who starred in a popular series of feature films, but grew up and decided that she wanted to do something really different with her life. This is why she’s opting for medical school!
By the time you see her on the show, Charlotte will be a resident at Angels Memorial and struggle at times with getting some of the other doctors to view her as someone serious about medicine. She’ll have a chance to become a series-regular down the road, but will start off as recurring.
While we cannot really make a judgment on the character without actually seeing her in action on the show, we’ll at least give the producers credit for coming up with an idea that feels new and something different than the standard medical-show fare.
