‘Arrested Development’ season 5: David Cross still waiting, but ready to make more

It seems like at least a few times every couple of months, we get something new to report on when it comes to “Arrested Development” that is neither great news nor terrible news. Effectively, it is the equivalent of actors / creator Mitch Hurwitz saying that they want to make more episodes, but there are still some things that need to be shorted out before everyone gets the green light.

For the latest comments on this subject, you don’t have to look any further than what Tobias himself in David Cross had to say to Digital Spy. Specifically here, he cites all of the different parties who are involved in making the show as a reason for the delay:

“It’s just a matter of getting the deal worked out – I think there’s like four or five different entities who own a piece of it. Making that deal work out is the toughest part – and then of course they have to schedule the actors. But I know that Mitch Hurwitz has been working on it and wants to do it – we all want to do it.”

At this point, we’ve really moved past trying to pinpoint exactly when the show could come back, mostly because it feels at this point like a little bit of a lost cause to try to figure it out. Schedules change constantly for many of the actors, and it is really difficult to sort it all out when you consider that so many people are working on movies.

Ultimately, we do think it’ll happen eventually. For now, that’s going to have to be good enough for us.
