‘The Americans’ season 5: Premiere date speculation for Keri Russell series
“Amazing” is a word that has been thrown around quite a bit when it comes to “The Americans.” If you watch it, it’s easy to understand why. It’s one of the most intelligent, craft, and at times even emotional shows out there. It makes you care about people you never thought you would, and then makes you question those emotions every step of the way.
With the finale airing tonight on FX, you’re going to get some answers regarding the future of Philip and Elizabeth’s mission, to go along with probably a few surprises that are a little tricky to see coming. (We’re intentionally keeping this article spoiler-free.)
What we want to focus on here primarily is the bare basics when it comes to next season of the show. When’s it coming back? There is no precisely premiere date yet, but it is safe to imagine that late winter / early spring is a safe bet, given that this has proven itself to be a little haven for the show over the years. Season 5 will be 13 episodes, so at least the overall count is set in stone.
We already know that this won’t be the last season of the show, which is certainly something to breathe a sigh of relief over; however, it has been announced that season 6, airing in 2018, will mark the end of the road for Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, and any other cast member who makes it that far. (This is at least assuming that these two do.)
