‘Penny Dreadful’ season 3, episode 6 video: Josh Hartnett details Ethan – Jared conflict

We’ve had a chance to see a lengthy storyline with Ethan on “Penny Dreadful” season 3, one that has tested the character in many ways beyond what we’ve seen with Vanessa and others. This time around, it has been about literally and also figuratively avoiding the shadow of his father Jared, and that has proven difficult thanks to where he is, and also some of the pains from the past that Jared has caused on others. Let’s just say that Ethan is far from the only person he has hurt over the course of his life.

Moving into the sixth episode of the season airing on Showtime Sunday, we will see some of these stories ignite in some other interesting ways, and there could even be a welcome reunion to boot.

This is a nice way to compartmentalize the relationship between these two men, and also prepare to a certain extent for the emotional journey still to come.
