‘Silicon Valley’ season 3, episode 7 preview: Big Head moves on; also, a beta
Before we look ahead to Sunday night’s new episode of “Silicon Valley” on HBO, let’s start with a refresher for where we are right now. On this past installment of the show, we saw Erlich’s overtaking of Big Head’s life come home to roost when he went completely broke, and as a result of that, is not able to keep the crazy home that he has or some of the other elaborate ventures he acquired as a result of his massive Nucleus severance package. (The idea still that Big Head scored more than $20 million for doing absolutely nothing remains hysterical.)
Now, Big Head is moving out in the video below for Sunday’s new episode … and Erlich is showing no sympathy whatsoever. Basically, the man is holding firm to his reputation of being “lovable d-bag” … at least to us. He’s not that lovable to Big Head right now.
Also, Richard is starting to feel a tremendous amount of pressure, both internally and externally, to release a beta for the Pied Piper platform. Sure, it’s not entirely ready … but is there anything that unusual about releasing a beta for something in its present state? Not really. As a matter of fact, it’s almost expected when you look at the state of the tech industry right now. It’d certainly help to get them some more attention at a time when Hooli is working on something that serves as viable competition.
Have we enjoyed season 3 so far? Definitely, and we thought that last week in particular was a delightful little detour that felt almost like a trip down “Seinfeld” lane. Now, we’re in the home stretch of the season. It’s time for some significant progression that is not relatively undone like what we saw with the whole Jack Barker situation.
