‘Suits’ season 6 video: Mike Ross prepares for prison life

We cannot help it to think about “The Office” whenever we think about the words “prison Mike,” but the reality is for “Suits” season 6 is that Mike is heading to the slammer. At the end of season 5, he opted to take a plea for jail time rather than run the risk of something so much more extreme beyond a plea deal. He sacrificed himself in some ways to spare others grief, and starting when the show’s July 13 premiere, he’ll have a chance to see the other side.

In the new promo below, we see what is basically the transformation from “lawyer Mike” to “prison Mike,” complete with the buzz cut as he walks into the penitentiary. It’s going to be a very different environment for him, but one that he hopefully figures out how to navigate rather quickly. Otherwise, we imagine that this will be really tricky for him to deal with over time since as a white-collar criminal, he could be an easy target for abuse.

While Mike is behind bars, we’re going to see some rather interesting developments on the outside. For one, his former firm is going to figure out how to deal with a mass exodus. They’ve lost many of their partners, and now Louis Litt, Harvey Specter, and Jessica Pearson are more on an island than ever before. In some ways, this could be exciting for them to figure out! However, at the same exact time it’s going to be hard to find those willing to work with them thanks to the Mike Ross PR nightmare.
