‘The Musketeers’ season 3, episode 2 preview: To stop a hanging
On the first episode of “The Musketeers” on BBC One later today, you’re going to have a chance to see everything from a difficult rescue mission to seeing even if our title characters can properly reunite.
So what lies beyond this? Think along the lines of an epic adventure in order to determine whether or not France as some of these characters know it can be freed. Refugees are in series danger, and in order to execute this quest, it’s going to take both physical and mental acuity from our leading men. The synopsis below makes it clear precisely what some of the obstacles are, and also how they can be overcome:
“With Paris on the brink of starvation, Grimaud and Feron join forces with the Duke of Beaufort to win the king’s business by framing the city’s refugees for grain theft. D’Artagnan’s hot temper makes him a Red Guard target and lands him in the chatelet with the victims, whose execution date looms. One man down, the musketeers race to discover the truth. Spirited refugee Sylvie catches Athos’ attention and he vows to prove her friends’ innocence – but is he wise to trust her? With a spy in their midst, can the musketeers break the conspirators’ grip on Paris before the refugees hang?”
Ultimately, think of this episode as a race against time. There’s no guarantee that the good guys will win, but given the fun and the spirit of adventure this show provides, we’re going to remain optimistic … at least for now. The only thing that we have to be particularly sad about right now is the notion that there is only eight more new episodes coming up after this one until the series is over.
