TV Quick Hits: ‘Westworld,’ ‘Divorce’ premiere this fall; ‘Project Runway’ renewed; ‘Maya & Marty’ guests
More “Project Runway” coming soon – Love the series? Well, so does Lifetime, and it is probably pretty clear at this point given how many episodes they’ve given the show.
According to Deadline, the network has also now renewed the fashion competition for three more seasons, which takes it all the way to the end of the eighteenth installment on the air. They’ve also renewed “Project Runway: All Stars” for two more seasons, and also one more year of the “Junior” version of the show.
Basically, what we’re trying to say here is that Lifetime really loves this series. They’re going to keep doing what they can with it for some time to come.
HBO premiere dates – For those wondering when some of the network’s ambitious new shows will be coming on the air, we’ve got at least a few answers for you now! The new drama “Westworld” will be starting this fall, which is great for those of you who have wanted more Western / sci-fi hybrid series ever since “Firefly” ended many years ago.
Meanwhile, we also now know that we’re going to be seeing Sarah Jessica Parker’s new comedy “Divorce” around that time, as well. This marks her return to series television after “Sex and the City,” and it should be interesting to see how she adapts to this role.
“Maya & Marty” guests – This new variety show is airing on NBC Tuesday night, and Deadline reports that Tom Hanks, Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus and Larry David are going to be among the first guests. Given the obvious “Saturday Night Live” connection here, it’s no surprise these are the guests. Be sure to also remember here that Kenan Thompson, a current cast member, is also a part of the show.
