NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 11: When will Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys make their coaching debut?

VoiceThe tenth season of “The Voice” is now over, but as is most things when it comes to reality singing shows, it’s going to be beginning again soon enough.

So when is season 11 going to start up? As per usual, not for a while. The Blind Auditions will be filmed at some point this summer, and there are some chances coming to the roster of coaches. For the first time, there will be two female coaches on the same season as Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys join the show in order to try to put some new singers through their paces.

Will these two be good coaches? It’s hard to really know, but we’re at least glad to see that the two of them are giving this a shot. It’s a chance to bring in some new viewers potentially to the show, and hopefully give it a new energy. With the ratings down to the extent that “The Bachelorette” beat it in adults 18-49 on Monday night, it feels clear that the show needs to do something to change things. New coaches can do that. We’d argue that they need to do more such as eradicating the Battle Rounds or starting the live shows (to us, the best part of the season) sooner, but the producers seem super set-in-their-ways when it comes to such matters and don’t really like to change things up.

There’s no premiere date yet, but anticipate season 11 of “The Voice” starting up at some point in late September. After all, this does tend to often be the case.
