NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: What Laith Al-Saadi, Alisan Porter, Hannah Huston, Adam Wakefield will sing
The finale for “The Voice” begins on Monday, and there’s no need to wait any longer to learn what the finalists are going to be singing! The remaining artists are each going to be doing three songs, and they include a duet with their coach, and also an original that they had a part in writing! (Thanks to Mjsbigblog for the writing credits on some of these.)
Below, take a look at all of the songs you’ll be voting on.
Adam Wakefield
Cover – “When I Call Your Name” by Vince Gill. It’s a smart choice at this point to appeal to the country faithful, given that Adam is the country singer left in the genre. This is a perfect, right-down-the-middle choice.
Duet with Blake Shelton – “The Conversation” by Hank Williams Jr. Another Good choice, though in all honesty we don’t know how much anyone ever buys these duets compared to the solo songs.
Original – “Lonesome, Broken, and Blue.” Adam wrote this song himself, so we’re curious to see what he envisions himself to be as solo artist.
Alisan Porter
Cover – “Somewhere” from West Side Story. She’ll be able to hit some big notes in here, so kudos on the choice and not having it be from the book of “songs we’ve heard a billion times before.”
Duet with Christina Aguilera – “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King. We’re mostly thrilled that she and Christina aren’t going to do a song that involves them trying to both hit huge note after huge note. The subtle choice here is the right one.
Original – “Down That Road.” Alisan wrote this alongside Ilsey Juber (Pitbull’s “Fireball”) and Ely Rise, who Adam Lambert fans may remember for co-writing “Aftermath” with Ferras, Porter, and Adam himself.
Laith Al-Saadi
Cover – “White Room” by Cream. This one is tricky, mostly because it’s probably not as well-known as all of the other covers being done on the night. Then again, it’s in Laith’s comfort zone.
Duet with Adam Levine – “Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight” by The Beatles. Adam has professed that this is the sort of music he grew up on and cherishes, so there should be some extra meaning in this tonight.
Original – “Morning Light.” It’s an original from Laith, and there’s even a version of it on YouTube!
Hannah Huston
Cover – “Every Breathe You Take” by the Police. Why the creepy stalker song? Nice melody, but it always gives us the willies.
Duet with Pharrell Williams – “Brand New” by Pharrell ft. Justin Timberlake. There’s a lot of Pharrell in Hannah’s set tonight!
Original – “I Call the Shots.” Pharrell co-wrote this song with Hannah, which is kinda nice when you think about it. He’s that invested with her that he wanted to help secure she had a good chance at winning the season.
