‘Limitless’ not canceled (yet); CBS looking for new home
The case of “Limitless” right now may be one of the most bizarre situations we’ve seen within the world of TV for quite some time, and there’s a fairly simple reason for it: The show has not been formally canceled yet, but at the same exact time, it doesn’t seem like CBS is chomping at the bit to bring it back.
As a matter of fact, the network announced on Wednesday that they are looking at alternate homes for the movie adaptation, though have not found anything definitive yet. Early on last season, we thought that this show (which counts Bradley Cooper as an executive producer) would’ve had no problem sticking around; yet, it struggled in the ratings down the line, and that puts it in the position where it is now.
Why doesn’t CBS want to keep it? Other than ratings, we get the real sense from the network this season that they are done experimenting. We saw a move last year to appeal to a younger audience with many of their shows, and now two of the series specifically designed for a younger crowd in “Limitless” and “Supergirl” are both gone. Now, they are bringing out a remake of “MacGyver” and a new series in “Bull” starring former “NCIS” star Michael Weatherly, which is based in part on the life of Dr. Phil McGraw.
Basically, the network has decided that it’s going to work more to firmly appeal to its established base, and those are older viewers and families looking for fairly predictable, but entertaining, programming.

This is BS! I’m hoping Hulu picks it up.Do you think there’s chance CBS will keep it if another network doesn’t want to pick it up?Also with Bradley Cooper’s ties to Netflix and his work on Wet Hot American Summer, do you think he’ll try to get them to pick it up in order for him to agree to reprise his role on Wet Hot American Summer?
