‘Grandfathered,’ ‘The Grinder’ both canceled by Fox

In following along today’s trend of reasonably-predictable cancellations, we now have some further news pertaining to both “Grandfathered” and “The Grinder“: They are both ending on Fox after just one season on the air.

The ratings for both shows were so low that we didn’t realistically think that either one of them would get a reprieve, but the truth here is that at least with the latter, this was a high-quality show with a great cast and plenty of funny moments. We thought “The Grinder” at least had a chance, but this is it … at least for now.

Do we realistically think that either one of these shows has much of a chance to stick around elsewhere? It’s unlikely, given that there is little way that either could convince a streaming provider to pick them up and give them another chance.
