Ratings: ‘NCIS,’ ‘Chicago Med’ improve as ‘Containment,’ ‘The Flash’ hold

With Michael Weatherly set to exit “NCIS” in just under a week’s time, doesn’t it make some sense that we would start to see some of the numbers go up? We certainly think so, and the latest ratings for this past episode of the show are a pretty clear reflection of that.

Overall, this installment entitled “Dead Letter” generated a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is at least solid for the show these days, given that it marks a slight increase from where it was in the weeks before. We don’t anticipate an enormous improvement next week; we’re thinking that it will get somewhere around a 2.2 or 2.3, since we haven’t really seen a rise of much magnitude for any other recent big finale.

As for some other ratings news of the day.

The good news – “New Girl” managed to end its season with a 1.1 and a 1.0 for its two episodes, which is a decent improvement over other episodes. Meanwhile, “Chicago Med” (1.6) improved week-to-week, while some other shows such as “Chicago Fire” (1.6), “The Flash” (1.3), and “Containment” (0.5) were reasonably steady in comparison to the week’s beforehand. “Person of Interest” (1.1) recovered somewhat from Monday, so it at least has that going for it.

The bad news – There was no terrible news across the board for many shows, other than that “Agents of SHIELD” (0.9) stayed low, and we’re still wondering how “Grandfathered” (0.6) even made it on the air for a full season with numbers that are CW level. It’ll be gone within a couple of weeks.
