‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12: Ellen Pompeo hints at Alex – Jo conflict in final episodes
Ellen Pompeo has been front and center for much of the relationship between these two, mostly because Meredith is so close to Alex and she has been forced to wonder herself whether or not the two would ever get together. She doesn’t offer any new information on that to Entertainment Weekly, but she does tell the publication that there are a few other issues that are going to rear their head coming up on Jo’s side by the end of the season:
“It’s not good between them … She’s pushing him away. There is a big Alex and Jo situation happening that’s going to explain a lot of why they haven’t gotten together yet.”
We’d certainly love to hope that this is one of those situations that could be resolved by the time we get through the finale, but that’s far from a guarantee. As we alluded to earlier, things on this show, especially when it comes to relationships, tend to take a long time to resolve themselves. We imagine that we’ll have a little bit more clarity in the finale, but with season 13 on the books and with Justin Chambers already suggesting that he’d like to return, there is little reason to rush to resolve this while there may be larger immediate priorities, such as the Callie / Arizona situation.
