‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 21 reaction: About Stephanie’s big decision

Grey's AnatomyThe heart wants what the heart wants, and apparently on “Grey’s Anatomy” what the heart wants more than anything else is having you break up with someone to ensure that them being hospitalized does not really interfere with any sort of career aspirations. This is precisely what we saw from Stephanie on Thursday night’s new episode, as she opted to keep her professional career intact and end things with Kyle. It’s not like being with him would have changed her job entirely, but while he was back in the hospital, it was adding some complications.

As for the way that she chose to end things (via letter), that may be a little more polarizing. Will she regret it? That’s something that Jerrika Hinton talked about to Entertainment Weekly, and she made her thoughts on the subject relatively clear:

“It’s not about regret; I think it’s about wishing things could be different. For any adult person who has gone through a rough breakup, when you have a situation where you know the breakup needs to happen, that doesn’t mean you’re not sad about it. Gosh, I just feel like she doesn’t regret it. She just wishes so many things about the situation could be different. I don’t think she ever questions why she did it, but she does continue to have feelings for the guy, naturally, because they work well together.”

Hinton also tells the publication that there are still some moments to come this season that she has to spend with the character, which is going to lead to some more-than-awkward interactions. Given the situation, did you really expect anything less? How could you?
