‘The Blacklist’ season 3, episode 21 preview: Famke Janssen arrives in ‘spin-off’ preview ‘Susan Hargrave’

On Thursday night’s new episode of “The Blacklist,” we saw the team mourn Elizabeth Keen, and also the foundation laid for what should be a really eventful final episodes of the season. For one, we’re going to have an introduction to what could very well be a spin-off for the show airing at some point moving into the next season. Famke Janssen is playing Susan “Scottie” Hargrave, a woman who has a dangerous reputation, and she also just so happens to have a history with Tom Keen. The photo above is perfect proof of that.

While we’ll be back after tonight’s episode with a full preview for what is coming up, we can go ahead and pass down a few details courtesy of the official NBC synopsis:

“When Reddington (James Spader) links an elegant, powerful and extremely dangerous woman to the recent tragic events, the task force is forced to play a deadly cat and mouse game to stop her before she strikes again.”

If this idea ends up becoming a full-on series over at NBC, you may have to wait a few weeks until their upfront presentation or close to it. We are optimistic, if for no other reason than that we don’t understand why the network would consider an idea for this franchise by allowing it to get to this point otherwise.

The promo below definitely hypes up the Hargrave character in ways that we haven’t seen before, mostly because she is billed as a true equal to Red. We’ll see if that lasts.
