‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Show boss hypes answers to Man in the Iron Mask debate

Who is the Man in the Iron Mask? It’s a question that many fans of “The Flash” have probably wanted some sort of answer to at one point or another this season, and it’s one that we personally have spent a lot of time and energy trying to figure out. Barry Allen from the future, Wally West, Eddie Thawne, Henry Allen, some other form of Zolomon, and the Reverse Flash are just some of the guesses that we’ve heard for who this person could be. One of the odder conspiracies out there has to do with the man’s complexion, which seems to almost be like #TheDress in terms of what people see.

Of course, you’re not going to get any definite answer from show producers as to who this man really is; however, we can at least give you the following tease, which executive producer Andrew Kreisberg made during a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“The man in the iron mask? The answer is going to blow your mind … Honestly, the two things that I am most proud of this season are Harry and the identity of the man in the mask.”

Sure, there is a risk of hyperbole here on Kreisberg’s part, but we imagine it is more how the person is in the mask came to be there that is intriguing. It’s a mystery that the showrunners could provide some interesting backstory on, and who knows? Maybe this will end up setting the stage for a truly epic third season.
