‘Scorpion’ season 2 finale reaction: Show boss on Walter’s big Paige moment
While “Scorpion” is not a relationship show, there were two moments that took place in the season 2 finale Monday night that certainly could have huge ramifications for many of the pairings moving forward in the series. The first one was getting to see Toby finally propose to Happy, only for her to admit to being already married. This is something that will definitely play out in season 3, and hopefully we will get some more mythology all about it.
As for the second big reveal, it was Walter realizing that he made a mistake with Paige, and went after her after previously acting like he didn’t want to mix work with his personal life. We know that this will obviously lead to something with these two characters, but what? That’s something executive producer Nick Santora discussed to a certain extent in a postmortem with TVLine:
“It tees up more Waige. That’s as far as we can go. We can’t promise that in the first episode of next season, they’re going to be holding hands and running through a valley of golden flowers together. But at the same time, the Waige relationship will always be there. Even if it’s bubbling under the surface, even if they have relationships with other people, it’s always there. That’s our job — to keep it alive and let the audience know it’s not going anywhere.”
We do hope that season 3 is the year for these two, mostly because the chemistry is already there. Waiting until a season 5 or somewhere along those lines would ultimately feel like drawing this out much longer than it really needs to be for the story we have.
