‘Quantico’ episode 19 video: Shelby explains recent actions to Alex

It was just a couple of episodes ago on “Quantico” that the doors were blown right open with one of the biggest surprises to date: Shelby was driving the mysterious car that picked up Simon! She was working in some way with the terrorist seemingly, and this of course struck Alex as an enormous betrayal.

Does it turn out that there is a completely innocent explanation for it all? That’s what Shelby seems to suggest in the sneak peek below for Sunday night’s episode, as she tells her fellow former Quantico trainee that she was ordered to drive the car and pick someone up, but she didn’t know who it was going to be. She claims that she has sense been trying to uncover the identity of this same terrorist herself using whatever means she possibly can, and she was trying to protect Alex by not looping her in.

The one thing that we really do like about this sneak peek is that it gives you a sense that Alex is not the only person who is capable of making moves against this terrorist. Just remember for a moment here that we tend to consistently live within a TV world where the majority of characters other than the leads are complete idiots when it comes to solving mysteries.

Now that we’ve said this, there is clearly another question that rises to the surface: Is she telling the truth? Given that we just saw that Caleb was hiding something from Alex in the future timeline, it’s reasonable to think that this is yet another smokescreen in its own right.
