‘Shark Tank’ video: Is Drip Drop the right ice-cream cone innovation?

Shark Tank -Sometimes, the best innovations on “Shark Tank” are the simplest ones. After watching the sneak peek below, we have almost zero doubt that Drip Drop is going to be a sure-fit hit outside of the Tank.

The sneak peek is packed full of funny lines, as the two teenagers behind this ice-cream cone innovation have crafted a great pitch. They realize that one of the biggest problems all ice-cream eaters (us included, mind you) is that cones are so sloppy to eat. We’ve actually just stopped getting them altogether out of fear that we’d create a mess.

This cone stops that problem by having a disc that you slide up, and it stays there while you are able to eat all of the messiest parts without having to worry as much. Is this too good to be true? It’s hard to know without trying it, and seeing just how tight the disc fits around the cone; in theory, though, it’s brilliant, and the Sharks will most-likely love that these two are so enthusiastic at such an early age. They’ve also got a reasonable valuation and, most importantly, have a patent on it.

To us, this is a real licensing deal if there ever was one, which is great since we’re not sure two teens have the time to otherwise run a full-time company. We wouldn’t be so shy about an investment here because of the entrepreneurs’ age. Sell this to cone manufacturers, and just watch the money roll in. This may be the closest thing to a slam-dunk that we’re seeing on Friday’s episode.
