ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Buckle Up’ heads to Florida!

Anytime that you choose to title an episode of “Scandal” something like “Buckle Up,” it should be noted that you’re going to have our attention. This is the sort of title that really just breeds excitement. Also, you could probably entitled a good half of the show’s episodes with something in this same vein, since we’re certainly strapped in after seeing Olivia lose it and kill Andrew on this past episode of the show.

Today, ABC announced the synopsis for the actual episode titled “Buckle Up” airing on April 28; take a look below:

“As Mellie, Susan and Hollis prepare to meet with Florida’s governor and vie for her influential endorsement, a spin war between Abby and Olivia threatens to keep their candidates grounded. Meanwhile, Cyrus is faced with a decision that could dramatically alter his future.”

As if things could not get any crazier for this show, they decide to ship three of their most combustible personalities to a place that has become over time a little bit of a media punching bag for being combustible. Don’t you think that Shonda Rhimes is going to have a field day with this? We suppose that the Florida governor could come to them, but that’s not nearly as much fun!

Meanwhile, it’s hard to say too much more on the Cyrus storyline without seeing where we are with him come April 28, but we’d really just like some stability there. So far this season, we’ve seen him pretty much tossed all over the place by the writers, and we have no clue what the guy even wants anymore.
