‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: Is First Lady Michelle Obama appearing?
Here is a little bit of “NCIS” news that we didn’t expect to be reporting, but we’re rather happy to do so: The show may actually be filming in Washington DC! Despite being on the air for more than a decade, going on-location is not something that they do often. When you film 24 episodes in a season and have budgetary restrictions, it really makes sense to stick around in Los Angeles.
As if this was not news enough, also know this: First Lady Michelle Obama may also be making an appearance! Dennis Smith, a frequent director with the show, posted on Twitter that he is in Washington to film a scene featuring Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the First Lady. As for the circumstances of this said scene, it still remains to be seen … but this is a cameo that would make sense, since honoring the military and those who work to investigate crimes within that world is a priority for any Presidential cabinet, First Lady included.
In our head, our ideal situation would be seeing Gibbs speaking to Obama about getting Tony DiNozzo honored, given that this would be a wonderful way for Michael Weatherly to depart the show. We’ve seem to have the foundation for his exit at this point, with him wondering if he is stuck in one place while working at this NCIS Field Office when there are other opportunities for him out there to further test his skill set.
We imagine that we’ll have some further news on “NCIS” and Obama over the days ahead, so be sure to check back regularly.
