‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ spoilers: What Marla Maples, Jodie Sweetin, Antonio Brown will perform to
Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” episode is diving back into a very familiar theme: Most Important Year. All of the remaining contestants are going to do a routine that really coronates and honors the most significant year of their life. What’s nice this time around is that we don’t have any super-young contestants where this particular year is obvious.
Below. You can take a look not just at the dance and song choices, but also our take on many of them.
Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess – Foxtrot – “7 Years” by Lukas Graham. We’re not super-familiar with the song, but what Antonio really needs to do here is show a more vulnerable side. His cockiness has been somewhat of a turnoff.
Doug Flutie & Karina Smirnoff – Waltz – “Rainbow Connection” by Kermit the Frog. Kermit the Frog? It’s a little random, but given what Doug has been through in his life, we feel like this could be a really heartfelt and even sweet routine.
Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy – Contemporary – “Home” by Phillip Phillips. Given that Phillip is going to be the only former winner not at the “American Idol” finale, this may be the only time we hear his music this week.
Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe – Foxtrot – “Rise Up” by Andra Day. Once again, we’re not too familiar with the theme song, but we have a feeling that this is a clue as to what part of Jodie’s life she is focusing on here.
Kim Fields & Sasha Farber – Foxtrot – “Facts of Life” TV Theme Song by Gloria Loring. Well, isn’t this going to be fun? Also, cheers to Kim for not making this about “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Marla Maples & Tony Dovolani – Jive – “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. We really don’t have much of an idea at all as to what this is going to be about. Yet, it should be fun!
Mischa Barton & Artem Chigvintsev – Samba – “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus. Why is she not dancing to “California” by Phantom Planet? Seriously!
Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd – Tango – “Verge” by Owl City, Aloe Blacc. Love the song. Also, it makes total sense of Nyle’s year was last year.
Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas – Paso Doblé – “300 Violin Orchestra” by Jorge Quintero. Technically, this could be Alan Bersten dancing once again given Mark’s injury.
Von Miller & Witney Carson – Contemporary – “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. Everyone knows this song. Maybe Von’s talking about last year, or maybe when he was drafted by the NFL.
Wanyá Morris & Lindsay Arnold – Waltz – “National Anthem 96’ Olympic Ceremonies” by Boyz II Men. Doing a routine to the National Anthem is not exactly easy! Yet, we understand why performing at the Olympics would be something Wanya would want to remember.
