‘Empire’ season 2, episode 11 video: Hakeem and Jamal talk things out

It’s been a really long wait, but on Wednesday night “Empire” is finally coming back to Fox. Not only that, but there are some key stories that need to be addressed.

One of the biggest ones revolves strictly around the character of Hakeem, who clearly has some explaining to do after his vote helped to ensure that Empire was given away to Mimi Whiteman, who then handed off control of the company to Camilla. Lucious’ own son ended up being the Brutus to his Julius Caesar, and now he’s gotta find a way to get it all back.

We know that Cookie is going to be infuriated with her son over his heartbreaking decision, and in the sneak peek below for tonight’s episode, you can see that there is clearly also some obvious tension there between Jamal and Hakeem at the same time. He’s going to feel as though he did the right thing for himself, largley because Lucious never really put a whole lot of effort into actually caring about how he feels.

Do we sympathize with the plight of Hakeem? Very much so, and largely because we cannot imagine that having this guy as a father is a particularly easy thing to deal with. Yet, at the same time this is one of those situations where you just have to find a different way to handle things. Turning the rest of your family against you is almost surely not the right move since they could’ve had your back.
