‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: Emilia Clarke on new Dany storyline

Dany -

When “Game of Thrones” season 6 premieres on HBO come Sunday, April 24, you’re going to see a variety of characters in different places than they were before … but none perhaps more so than Dany. She was ruling Meereen before the rebellion, and were it not for Drogon allowing her to escape, who knows where she would be now? What we do know is that she is suddenly once more at the mercy of the Dothraki people, and this time Drogo is not there to help her assimilate.

In speaking about her upcoming story to Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke makes it clear that Dany may still have the skills necessary to survive this encounter; however, it’s not going to be a particularly easy thing to handle:

“This is not the khalasar that she conquered. She knows all too well that getting on the wrong side of the Dothraki is not what you want to be doing. But on the same breath she’s kind of a Dothraki at heart because that’s where she learned her strength. Not just that she’s fireproof and gave birth to dragons, but her strength as a woman.”

We do have to assume that there will be those back in Meereen who seek her out and try to find her, and hopefully, they do that before the end of season 6. Also, we hope that this trial mobilizes her more than ever to start to prepare for her next step as a ruler. After all, the show has really taken its time getting Dany to this point, and we want to see her have more of an impact in the Seven Kingdoms before the end.
