ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 16 preview: Susan Ross, David Rosen, and the future

On Thursday night’s new episode of “Scandal,” we of course saw plenty of Olivia Pope trying to fight for what is right. However, at the same time we gotta admit that we were probably the most invested in some of the sequences with Susan Ross. We found these super-compelling from start to finish as we saw her start to realize that her whirlwind romance with David Rosen may not be everything that she thought that it was.

Next week’s new installment is fittingly titled “The Miseducation of Susan Ross,” and the synopsis below offers up a few more details in regards to what is coming up next:

“Following the first Republican debate, Olivia is presented with damaging information about an opponent and enlists the Gladiators to verify its authenticity. Meanwhile, David deals with fallout from his dating life, and Cyrus continues to work on his own political agenda.”

At the end of tonight’s episode, it was revealed that Olivia had learned something in regards to whatever secret Susan has been keeping, and this is something that she could use to her advantage. Aside from that, we’re also going to get some sort of narrative about the big debate that began tonight. We’ve got a few people entering the ring, and only one of them is going to emerge with public opinion largely on their side. Olivia is working for Mellie Grant now, so we have to think she is doing what she can in order to help her win.
