TV Quick Hits: ‘Teen Wolf’ actor joins Cote de Pablo pilot; Damon Wayans Jr. back on ‘New Girl’; Daytime Emmys news
No Daytime Emmys on TV – We begin this edition of TV Quick Hits with what is probably the most surprising reveal of the day, and that is the fact that there is no television partner for the Daytime Emmy Awards this year.
In a statement, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences President Bob Mauro had the following to say:
“After last year’s critically successful Daytime [Emmys] telecast [on Pop], it is with great disappointment that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announces that there will not be a broadcast of the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards … After months of negotiations to find show sponsorship, the NATAS Executive Board has decided that the current climate for awards shows prohibits the possibility of a telecast this year. With that said, we will be putting on a world-class awards celebration honoring the best and brightest of daytime television and look forward to an exciting show. All efforts regarding returning the annual gala to television in 2017 are underway.”

“Teen Wolf” actor joins Syfy’s “Prototype” – We recently wrote quite a bit about this intriguing pilot featuring “NCIS” alum Cote de Pablo (read more here), and we’re now pleased to add another name to the list in JR Bourne. Per Deadline, Bourne will play the husband of Cote’s Laura, a man who gets increasingly frustrated by her long hours and time apart.
Damon Wayans Jr. returning to “New Girl” – Coach is back! It was confirmed today that the actor was going to be back some point later in the season as the character. Here’s to hoping it is for the Schmidt – CeCe wedding.

I hope Cote does well in this series. I still kind of see her as a Ziva David character. Maybe if this doesn’t work out maybe she will come back to NCIS
