‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 16 preview: Cupid leaves her mark

“Love is a bullet to the brain, or an arrow to the heart.”

This bit of diabolical dialogue comes courtesy of Cupid in the most-recent sneak peek below from Wednesday night’s new episode of “Arrow,” which is fitting titled “Broken Hearts.” With Damien Darhk currently in prison it only made sense for someone else to pick up that mantel, and this someone certainly seems to be the woman otherwise known as Carrie Cutter.

However, there are some distinct differences between the Cupid of the past two appearances on the show and the Cupid that we are seeing today. Before now, we had seen a version of this character who was intent on being in love first with Oliver Queen and then with Floyd Lawton a.k.a. Deadshot. This time around, she seems out to destroy love and cause pain for others. There are no regulars in the sneak peek; instead, she seems merely happy to murder two people who profess their never-ending love to each other. She states that line above right before firing away at them.

For Team Arrow, of course the primary mission becomes finding a way to seek her out, and the whole idea behind Oliver and Felicity staging a wedding is to flush her out. While this may make for a crazy scene on the show, it’s also probably torture for many an Olicity fan out there who would prefer to not be toyed with in such a way. Are we confident that these two will find their way to each other? In time possibly, but we have a hard time imagining it will be during Wednesday’s episode.
