‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 20 review: Did ‘Djibouti Call’ create drama for Walter and Paige?
Ever since the beginning of “Scorpion” one way or another, there has been one couple at the heart of many ‘shippers out there: Walter and Paige. We know that there are feelings there, but we also know just how Walter feels about romance on the team, and also opening himself up to other people.
After Monday night’s new episode “Djibouti Call,” it is clear that if Walter wants to make a move eventually, he may be running out of time. Thanks in part to a mission where she went undercover with Cabe’s new asset Tim Armstrong (Scott Porter), sparks started to fly a little bit, and he was there to care for her at the end of the episode while Walter looked on. We’re sure that he could feel in some way threatened by his presence, even if he may not vocalize it in traditional ways, and this as a whole is something that may be bubbling under the surface if Tim sticks around for a while.
The mission was fast-paced and fun, and throughout the episode there were some good moments. We’re always happy to see Horatio Sanz, and Sylvester encouraging him to stick with the team moving forward was a nice tough in terms of him showing that he wants to care and support him. Meanwhile, Happy took some unusual methods to make sure that Toby keeps recovering from his gambling addiction, which will be interesting to watch the rest of the season in its own right.
While we do enjoy some of the missions, what we’re perhaps the happiest about right now about in this story of Walter and Paige in one way or another seems to be (finally) moving forward. Grade: B.
