‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ episode 6 rankings: Where Scot Pollard, Aubry Bracco, more stand on Gondol tribe
Now that the tribe swap has happened on “Survivor: Kaoh Rong,” we’re going to be back to ranking on a tribal basis. This may be the only week we do this with a merge likely coming up soon, but we’re really happy with the divisions at the moment. There are no overwhelming majorities on either tribe, and while on Gondol there are three Brains, they’re really only loosely aligned since Joe and Aubry were not super-close early in the game and Peter was on the outs before the swap.
With that, there s a lot of flexibility, and this tribe was super-tough to rank. We’re doing it here, as always, on the basis of strategy, challenge ability, screen time, edit, usefulness around camp, and overall threat level.
6. Julia Sokolowski – She’s coming into this tribe after three days alone, has no real allegiances other than a familiarity with Tai, and no idol. She’s an extremely easy vote, and the only reason she may stay if Gondol loses is because no one seems to think of her as much of a threat.
5. Peter Baggenstos – We could have a reprisal here of the situation we had with Anna last week. If the Brains on this tribe decide to target Tai and Scot clues him in on it, this could lead to someone like Peter being idoled out of the game. Tai has already said that he doesn’t really care for him, and it’s even possible that Joe and Aubry could go ahead and turn on him, too.
4. Scot Pollard – Scot did an excellent job this past week of convincing Tai to trust him and not play the idol, knowing full well that Jason also has one and it benefits him to keep them both in the game to turn them into a super-idol down the line. The main concern here is that he is a huge, obvious physical threat, and this is a time before the merge when they go home.
3. Tai Trang – Having an immunity idol goes a long way, especially when it comes to the situation that he is in right now. If he has to use it Wednesday, he can, and then unless there’s a late merge he can move over into a merged tribe and find some more flexibility for himself. At that point, he won’t be viewed as a threat for a while.
2. Joe Del Campo – Joe may be a jury threat if he makes it to the end of the game, but we’re mostly ranking him #2 right now because he’s in a great spot surrounded by allies on Gondol, and won’t be an immediate target at the merge. We’re not sure he is the most strategic person in the world, but he hasn’t needed to be yet.
1. Aubry Bracco – Aubry strikes us as someone who can be strategic if she needs to, and she’s extremely smart to go along with it. Her issues the first few days in the game are firmly in the rear-view mirror, and we really feel like she is someone you should watch out for as we start to get closer and closer to the end of the game.
