Ratings: ‘Little Big Shots’ wins again; ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Elementary’ season 4 down; ‘The Passion’ okay

Red -While Fox certainly had a lot of attention on social media through their live presentation of “The Passion,” did this end up being the sort of production that rivaled “Grease: Live,” or really any other musical of its capacity airing over the past couple of years? Not exactly, though Fox may still be happy about it.

The good news – “The Passion” did draw a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic, plus was trending #1 worldwide for much of last night. We have to assume that they were probably hoping for it to get some better numbers, but given that this is a special that they could replay around Easter in the future, it has some sort of value for them in the long-term. It also was a little more under-the-radar in terms of promotion than “Grease.”

Meanwhile, “Little Big Shots” won the night once more with a 2.6 rating; while down slightly versus last week, there is no way that NBC thought that this show with Steve Harvey was going to get anywhere near these kind of numbers.

The bad news – The night was probably terrible for you if you were a scripted drama: “Once Upon a Time” (1.1), “Quantico” (1.0), and the premiere of “Elementary” (0.8) on Sunday were all down versus recent episodes, and in the case of “Once Upon a Time,” it marked another series low. For some reason this Underworld arc, while pretty great, is not resonating with viewers; or, maybe it’s more of a case that the underwhelming Dark Swan arc from the first half of the season is starting to scare people away. At least it is renewed already for another season.

The one exception to the rule here is “The Good Wife” (1.0), which rose versus recent episodes. However, it’s in the final season, and therefore it doesn’t really matter so much.
