‘Blindspot’ midseason premiere reaction: Jaimie Alexander on Taylor Shaw reveal
Are you still reeling from the midseason premiere of “Blindspot”? We would certainly imagine that you could be, given everything that we had unfold over the course of the hour.
The biggest surprise is fairly clear: Jane Doe seems to be Taylor Shaw, who disappeared from her friend Weller’s life (and in general) when she was just a young girl. We’re going to operate for now under the assumption that we can trust Oscar; after all, Jaimie Alexander seems to make her new identity a fairly definitive thing in a new interview with TV Guide:
“Finding out that she’s Taylor Shaw from somebody that has come into her life from her past is pretty huge … Because then it’s not just somebody who wants her to be Taylor Shaw telling her that she’s Taylor Shaw, but in fact somebody who seems to know quite a bit about her in her past life. And also, she’s had memories of this man, so she knows that he’s definitely somebody that she was okay with. So that just ups the stakes right there.”
Of course, having this connection to Weller is only going to up the personal stakes, but she knows that there is so much more at stake here than just this. We imagine that this will be one of the many interesting things that unfolds over the rest of the season, since there is so much that Jane is keeping to herself. Romantically, her meeting with Oscar may have done enough for her to cool things off with Weller … at least for now.
