‘Supergirl’ episode 15 preview: Laura Vandervoot, Indigo, and the Fortress of Solitude

For those of you who have not had your fill yet of some of the not-so-subtle nods to Superman / other DC mythology on “Supergirl” over the course of this season, have no fear: More is coming on next week’s “Solitude”! This is a chance to see the famed Fortress of Solitude from Superman’s world, and also to get a nice tie-in to “Smallville” with that show’s Supergirl Laura Vandervoot guest-starring in a significant way.

The synopsis below gives you a little more information regarding what to expect:

“Kara travels to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude in hopes of learning how to defeat Indigo (Laura Vandervoort), a dangerous being who can transport via the Internet and who has a connection to Kara’s past. Also, James’s relationship with Lucy reaches a crossroads.”

Would a breakup of James and Lucy bring us closer to a potential Kara / James pairing? It’s possible, though we’re not sure just yet what direction the writers are taking this character yet. We know that Winn also has very-clear feelings for her, and those could also come back at some point. Maybe we’re personally a little bit on Team Winn, mostly because he’s a little bit more of the underdog and we always tend to root for people who are in this situation. It’s a little bit like Felicity was with Oliver in “Arrow” season 1, when it was not altogether clear that this was a direction that the CW show was going to be heading down.

We’ll have some other news on this episode throughout the week, but we definitely expect it to be eventful.
