‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Will Ben Higgins will over Caila Quinn’s father?

There are many different hometown date tropes that we’ve come to expect on “The Bachelor” over the years, and we gotta say that the overprotective father is really just one of them. He is someone who throws a bunch of questions at the leading man, and at times can inject a little bit of doubt as to whether or not this part is right for his daughter.

based on the synopsis below for Monday night’s new episode of the ABC reality show, this is precisely what is going to happen for Ben Higgins and Caila Quinn:

“Caila shows Ben her high school and her father’s toy factory – two places that are important to her. Her father only wants what’s best for her and cross examines Ben. Will this interrogation give the Bachelor second thoughts about their future as a couple?”

We anticipate that there will be some decent drama that comes out of this situation, but at the same time, we didn’t see anything in the preview for Monday’s episode that makes us think that Caila’s father is going to be so intimidating and harsh that it ruins the relationship between his daughter and Ben. Maybe it gives him some pause as to whether or not he wants that much pressure on him all of the time, but for the most part we’d consider it a good thing that a father is so concerned over his daughter’s future that he is hard on many of the people that she dates. It only means that he wants the best for her.
