‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 13 video: a look inside ‘Welcome to Earth-2’

Joe West

We’re not quite sure that we’ve been excited for an episode of “The Flash” quite in the way that we are in Tuesday night’s “Welcome to Earth-2.” Most of it stems from sheer curiosity, given that we are getting to see a universe in Earth-2 that is in many ways different than the one we’ve come to know on the show. It’s a different city-space, and while there are many commonalities to Earth-1 Central City, some key differences will cause the world to stand apart right away.

These differences are things that executive producers Aaron and Todd Helbing are quick to accent in the new video below. In here, the two detail how almost right away, Barry and Cisco (who travel to Earth-2 with Dr. Wells) are going to be overcome with a sense of wonder after seeing it for the first time. In many ways, this is going to feel almost like a field trip for them.

However, it is Harry who reminds them that they are there on a specific mission to take down Zoom, and there are going to be some problems that surface for them almost right away. One of the biggest ones is going to be the presence of Killer Frost and Deathstorm, who waste almost no time making their impact on the team felt. They will be in some ways relentless, and ultimately dangerous no matter how you slice it. One of the real joys of the upcoming two-parter will be seeing how this Earth-2 version of Caitlin Snow operates.

In the end, just expect this story to be epic. There will be at times reasons to worry about these characters, and at other times moments where Joe West, a lounge singer on Earth-2, is singing his heart out.
