‘The Bachelor’ reaction: Ben Higgins on his one Olivia Caridi regret

Olivia -Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelor” had a few moments that will probably define this season, but the biggest was probably Ben Higgins seemingly leaving Olivia Caridi on the middle of an island all to herself. The way the show does this is really depressing and ridiculously over-the-top, since you know that this is going to play out time and time again on future recaps. Then again, you can also argue that Olivia put herself in this position just by going on the show.

So does Ben feel guilty in any way for that? It’s hard for him to since he’s not a producer; however, he did say in his new People Magazine blog that there is one thing in particular he wishes that he had done differently in the way he sent her home:

“One thing I feel really badly about was that I picked up the rose when I went to go talk to Olivia. In all honesty, I’m not really sure why I did that. There were so many other things on my mind that it must’ve just been instinct as I knew I was making my decision and I usually pick up the rose when I do that on other dates. But this wasn’t like other dates. Another mistake and one that I regret to this day. Told you, far from perfect.”

We totally agree with all of this. As terrible as Olivia was at some times to the other people, we don’t think anyone should be humiliated or tricked in any way. Ben obviously didn’t mean it, but she had to be thinking that she was getting the rose when he picked it up and took her away for a minute.

As for whether or not the confident Olivia we saw was real or something edited that way / put on by production, we’ll get a chance to find out more at the “Women Tell All.”
