Want to prepare for ‘Longmire’ season 5 at Longmire Days? Dates announced for Buffalo event

Longmire -Buffalo, Wyoming is the setting for Craig Johnson’s Walt Longmire novels, and it also happens to be where “Longmire” the Netflix series is set (even if it is actually filmed in New Mexico). Therefore, where better than the real-life Buffalo to host the annual Longmire Days convention? While we’ve never been personally (as much as we wish we could go), we know this to be a great event where you can congregate with other fans, see a parade, take part in some drawings, and also get some autographs from select people affiliated with the show.

This year, Longmire Days is officially set to take place from July 8-10, and with that we have some advice: Start making your travel arrangements early. Thousands flock to the town for the event, and Buffalo is not an enormous community with countless hotels lining every street. You can stay in some nearby towns, but you better be prepared for a little bit of a drive.

For the time being, it’s a tad too early to know just who will be there this year and who won’t. Many of the cast members have busy schedules, and other work commitments make it impossible. In past years, we have seen the likes of Robert Taylor (Walt), Katee Sackhoff (Vic), Cassidy Freeman (Cady), and Adam Bartley (The Ferg) turn up among others. Regardless of who is there, it’s pretty sure to be a big party all about the show and Johnson’s books.

Also, this following is one of the reasons why there is a season 5 in the first place. There are many wonderful TV fandoms out there (we know this better than anyone thanks to this job), but few manage to perfectly merge being enthusiastic with also being a tight-knit and caring community. There are no sweeping divisions between ‘ships or character followings here.
