‘The Amazing Race 28’ spotlight: Will Erin White Robinson, Joslyn Davis be Clevver enough to win?

There are few teams on “The Amazing Race 28,” despite the social-media theme, that we are familiar with going into the season. With that being said, we’re at least reasonably familiar with Erin White Robinson and Joslyn Davis of Clevver fame. If you’re searched for entertainment news on YouTube at some point over the past several years, odds are you’ve at least noticed them around.

So while we do know what they do for a living and that helps us to identify them in the early going, unfortunately that doesn’t help them at all in the race. They have a few things going for them competitively, but at the same time they are going to have to overcome some obstacles and also figure out how to utilize their strengths. Be prepared to dive into this more in the latest edition of our spotlight series below!

Relationship – Co-workers / hosts at Clevver.

Claim to fame – Being a part of an entertainment channel that has generated billions of views over the years, and also interviewing a wide array of celebrities along the way. This is a site that has made a name for itself giving bite-sized updates and news stories on a variety of different topics.

Strengths – Many people on this season are going to be pretty assertive socially, but Joslyn & Erin will probably top the list. They’re hustlers, and their whole job is about connecting with other people in one form or another. This could help them to get out of tight binds or even to form alliances with some other teams. They also could be one of those teams that, if they can steer clear of bad taxis or critical mistakes, could sneak by for a few weeks and not be thought of as a major threat. They could evade U-Turns as a result.

Weaknesses – Their most obvious weakness is simply that they are not as physical as some other teams, and we do think that you can be too self-aware at times for your own good. We think this really hurt Team TMZ last season, since they started to panic when they realized that they weren’t doing well and their co-workers would mock them for it. One other issue they might have is that we don’t have a great read on their overall travel experience at the moment, and this could be an issue.

Prediction – We could see them finishing high in a couple of legs, but our current prediction for them is that they are the third or fourth team out. There are just so many savvy teams this season that we think some of them will be able to avoid mistakes, and unfortunately Joslyn & Erin are the sort of team that will need to capitalize on mistakes in order to surpass some of the more-physical people taking part.
