Ratings: ‘The Flash’ season 2 improves; ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago Med’ steady

The ratings have now come in for Tuesday night’s primetime lineup, and for the most part there is one simple word that can be used to describe them: Almost everything when it comes to the ratings is exactly how it was going into the week … with at least a few exceptions.

The winners – Great news for “The Flash,” which has improved back to a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic for an excellent episode featuring the return of the Reverse-Flash to the show. This is around where the show has been throughout season 2.

Since there are few real “winners,” we’ll just go ahead and proclaim that shows with level ratings are as well. With that, congratulations to both “Chicago Med” (1.6) and “Chicago Fire” (1.8) for staying steady compared to previous episodes. If these ratings stay this way until “The Voice” returns, that show will help them.

The losers – There’s still very little in the way of good news for “Agent Carter.” As much as we personally enjoy the ABC series starring Hayley Atwell, a 0.9 rating is one example of a show being steady that you don’t want to see. It’ll be so much better if it could at least get up to a 1.0 or a 1.1. Being trounced by a CW show is never a great look.

Also, Fox’s comedy block continues to struggle, with “New Girl” (1.2) and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (1.0) continuing to struggle in their own way. With no “NCIS” or “NCIS: New Orleans” on the night, this was a quiet one overall. That’ll change in due time.
