2016 Critics’ Choice Awards: ‘Fargo,’ Mayim Bialik, Idris Elba among TV winners
Limited Series / TV Movie – “Fargo.” No shocker here, given that this was the undisputed favorite going into the show.
Actor, Limited Series / TV Movie – Idris Elba, “Luther.” Also no major surprise here, given the fact that Elba is super-popular. We know some were clamoring still for Oscar Isaac.
Actress, Limited Series / TV Movie – Kirsten Dunst, “Fargo.” Redemption following the Golden Globes disappointment.
Supporting Actor, Limited Series / TV Movie – Jesse Plemons, “Fargo.” No surprise here.
Supporting Actress, Limited Series / TV Movie – Jean Smart, “Fargo.” Or here.
Comedy Series – “Master of None.” Think of this as a nice nudge towards a second season.
Actor, Comedy Series – Jeffrey Tambor, “Transparent.” Call it a streak! The Globes is an exception.
Actress, Comedy Series – Rachel Bloom, “Crazy Ex Girlfriend.” She won the Globe, and therefore her streak continues.
Supporting Actress in a Comedy – Mayim Bialik, “The Big Bang Theory.” Given the source material this season, it’s hard to argue with the choice very much.
Supporting Actor in a Comedy – Andre Braugher, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” It’s nice to see the show is still getting some love!
Guest Actor / Actress in a Comedy – Timothy Olyphant, “The Grinder.” Really funny role. No surprise.
Drama Series – “Mr. Robot.” There’s quite a bit that everyone loves in the USA series right now.
Actor in a Drama – Rami Malek, “Mr. Robot.” We expect Rami to get an Emmy very soon, as well.
Actress in a Drama – Carrie Coon, “The Leftovers.” Finally, the HBO series manages to get a win.
Supporting Actor in a Drama – Christian Slater, “Mr. Robot.” We were rooting more for Christopher Eccleston, but he’s a worthy choice.
Supporting Actress in a Drama – Constance Zimmer, “UnREAL.” It’s nice to see this show getting some love.
Guest Actor / Actress in a Drama – Margo Martindale, “The Good Wife.” Another victory for Character Actress Margo Martindale!
Unstructured Reality Series – “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.” One of the most underrated series on TV.
Reality Competition Show – “The Voice.”
Talk Show – “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”
Animated Series – “BoJack Horseman.” This news makes us ridiculously happy.
Reality Host – James Lipton, “Inside the Actors Studio.” A little random, but okay.
