‘Galavant’ season 2, episode 5 preview: A rather giant surprise

There are two more episodes of “Galavant” coming your way on Sunday, and in the first one we’re going to see our title hero doing everything that he can to ensure that he has an army to help him in his quest to rescue Isabella.

Unfortunately, it turns out that the giants he runs into may not be nearly as giant as advertised. Instead, the preview below reveals that, despite a camera trick at first, they are actually the same exact size a Galavant. It feels like this is in part an in-joke on the cheesy special effects many shows / movies create to make giant characters appear that way, and also a part of the show’s general attitude towards common fairy-tale / medieval lore themes. Nothing is altogether what it seems in the surface.

Who knows? Maybe it turns out that these guys are still extremely valuable to Galavant in his efforts to get Isabella back … he just better hope that she is not married by the time he makes it there. Much of her storyline so far this season has been about her being brainwashed in an attempt to do something that she otherwise would not do.
